A pedagogical publication in the course: Legal Terminology in English

Abstract

This pedagogical publication, issued by the Faculty of Law at Relizane University (Ahmed Zabana), serves as supplementary scientific material for first-year law students in Algeria. It aims to provide legal terminology in both Arabic and English for the following modules in the second semester: Introduction to Legal Sciences, Judicial Organization, and Constitutional Law. 1. Theory of Right: The source addresses the Theory of Right in detail, reviewing traditional legal doctrines such as the Personal, Objective, and Mixed schools, as well as modern theories. It defines the subjects of right , distinguishing between a natural person and a legal person . As a second point, it specifies the object of right and the classification of things into material and moral, real estate (immovables) and movables, and "work" as an obligation to perform or abstain from an act. 2. Judicial Organization: The second axis defines the concept of a lawsuit, the conditions for its admissibility, and the procedures , The publication also details incidents of litigation, such as stay of proceedings, interruption, and abatement, in addition to judicial requests and defenses. It further covers judicial judgments regarding their formal elements and types, distinguishing between contradictory judgments, default judgments, and final judgments on the merits. 3. Constitutional Law: The third axis of the publication concludes with the module of Constitutional Law, focusing on the principle of separation of powers and its practical applications in Parliamentary, Presidential, and Semi-Presidential systems.
