| Abstract: | There are several ways to construct new vector spaces from a family of vector spaces over the same field. Two of the most important of these constructions are the direct sum and the vector space of all linear transformations. This course introduces a basic concept which has a major importance in many areas of sciences such as applied mathematics, physics and engineering, called tensor product, that combines two vector spaces V and W into a new vector space VW. |
