Résumé: This course, Physicochemical Analysis Techniques II, provides second-year undergraduate chemistry students with fundamental knowledge of spectroscopic methods widely used for chemical analysis and structural characterization. The course begins with general concepts of light and matter interaction, introducing the basic principles of spectroscopy. Ultraviolet–Visible (UV–Vis) spectroscopy is presented as a technique for studying electronic transitions in molecules and for quantitative analysis based on the Beer–Lambert law. Infrared (IR) spectroscopy is introduced as a powerful tool for identifying functional groups through molecular vibrational modes. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is discussed as an essential method for elucidating molecular structure, focusing on chemical shift, spin–spin coupling, and signal integration. Finally, Mass Spectrometry (MS) is introduced as a highly sensitive analytical technique for determining molecular mass, isotopic patterns, and fragmentation pathways. Through this course, students acquire the theoretical foundations necessary to interpret spectra and understand the applications of spectroscopic techniques in chemistry, materials science, environmental analysis, and related fields.
