Abstract: Industrial microbiology is the science that uses microorganisms in industry, and this
manuscript, intended for Master 2 students in applied biochemistry. It’s main goal is to
introduce students to the use of microbiology in industry and to open up possibilities for them
for startup projects. The course of Industrial Microbiology contains the basic principles of
microbiology and their applications in industry, it is composed of five main areas, which are:
Introduction to the module, the microbiological control and his importance in industry, the
fermenters and detailed examples of uses of them, notions on viruses and prion as well as
immunological methods of virus detection. Students will progressively build mastering
knowledge, applying practical skills, and adopting a professional attitude. Thus, at the end of
the program, the student will be able to develop the capacity to create a project in industry.
